Naturalist Guides

Pablo Richard
Naturalist Guide

Pablo was born on September 14, 1976 in the outskirts of Paris, France. His parents are Chilean but had moved to Paris to get their doctorates at La Sorbonne University.

When Pablo was 8 years old, they moved to Costa Rica.

Pablo developed his love for the outdoors, he thinks, from tagging along with his parents to the projects that they worked within remote areas of Costa Rica.

Pablo went on to get a degree in Biology with emphasis on ecology and sustainable development form the Universidad Latina in Costa Rica. He also holds a master’s degree from the United Nation’s mandated University for Peace, on Responsible Management and Economical Sustainable Development.

Like many guides, Pablo ended up guiding by circumstances. Given that he speaks fluently three languages (English, French and Spanish) he was called by a company in Costa Rica to help with an urgent situation and ended up guiding full time for several years. Pablo also worked 13 years in an International University (UPEACE) and 5 years for the Organization for Tropical Studies, known as OTS. Pablo is now dedicated entirely as a naturalist tour guide.

When he is not guiding, Pablo loves to practice mountain bike and spends time with his wife Yesenia and their daughters Pamela and Valentina.
