Omar has worked as a Naturalist Guide for Costa Rica Expeditions for many years, but recently decided to give up the vagabond lifestyle of a guide for the very detailed-oriented transport programmer job in the company's Operations Department. “I’m looking forward to learning about the bigger picture of the company,” he says. “Coordinating a trip-of-a-lifetime requires careful orchestration of not only transport and lodging, but a whole chain of services.”

Born to Costa Rican parents on July 14, 1964, in Los Angeles, Omar graduated from high school in Costa Rica in the 80s, earning a degree in precision mechanics. Since then he has earned two degrees from National Learning Institute in general mechanics and guiding. Omar is a dedicated father to his five children and enjoys spending his free time with them. He likes all kinds of sports and, whenever possible, surfing the Web.
