urbano quesada

Urbano, 61, has guided for Corcovado Lodge since it opened and has many years of experience with horses and rural living on the Osa Peninsula. His sharp eyes find crocodiles, macaw feathers and more as he leads horseback trips along the beautiful coastline of the southern Pacific coast to the Río Oro Lagoon.

Miraculously cured of a serious illness by an herbalist at the age of three, Urbano has been interested in herbs and their medicinal uses ever since. He is a storyteller and a giver of good luck; he enjoys planting medicinal plants and caring for Corcovado Lodge’s horses.

Even if you don’t speak Spanish, with a little patience and perseverance, you can learn a lot about this remote and wondrous area from this quiet man. Born March 25, 1946, Urbano has three adult daughters: Zinia, Guiselle and Elena.
