• Van to La Pavona dock from your choice of San Jose, Arenal, Sarapiqui, Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. Boat La Pavona Dock to Tortuga Lodge. If you’re traveling from San Jose, fly to Tortuguero at no extra charge in a domestic flight (one seat in plane).
• Flight from Tortuguero to San Jose and van to Monteverde.
• Van from Monteverde Cloud Forest to your choice of destinations. San Jose, Manuel Antonio, Golfo Papagayo, Coco – Ocotal, Tamarindo – Conchal – Flamingo, Arenal.

Day 2 & 3: Tortuguero National Park (B)

• Optional 6am, free bird walk around the grounds with a Tortuguero a guide.
• Breakfast.
• Explore the gardens, hike the trails behind the lodge, enjoy the riverside pool.
• Participate in The Words Adventure program for free (previous reservations are required).
• 3pm, join a Tortuguero Guide for a free nature walk in the lodge gardens.

Day 4: Tortuguero / San José / Monteverde (B)

• Breakfast.
• Fly 35 minutes to San José.
• Meet your van for the 3-4 - hour drive to Monteverde Cloud Forest. Driving time does not include additional stops the shuttle may make along the way.
• Overnight at Monteverde Lodge, Forest View Downstairs Room.

Day 5&6: Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (B)

• Breakfast.
• Explore the gardens, the pool and the indoor Lodge butterfly gardens.

• Overnight Monteverde Lodge, Forest View Downstairs Room.

Day 7: Monteverde Cloud Forest – Drop Off Point (B)

• Breakfast.

• It’s a package. Customized itineraries are costly to plan and operate. Predefined packages are not.
• Except for extra nights, if you make a change you would pay much more expensive customized itinerary prices.
• Because it includes 6 nights at Costa Rica Expeditions’ Lodges, you get a volume discount.
• It is subject to availability. If we think we can sell the rooms more profitably, this package is not available.

IMPORTANT NOTE LUGGAGE LIMITATION:

• When flying or traveling by boat within Costa Rica a maximum of 30 pounds of luggage is allowed per person.
• The 30 lb. weight limit for flights or boat trips within Costa Rica does not mean that you need to limit yourself to 30 lbs. of baggage for your entire trip to Costa Rica.
• If you have more than 30 lbs. of luggage. We are happy to store your excess luggage in San Jose, and catch it up to you as soon as your return from your excursion.
• Arrangements can be made to permit more luggage per person at considerable extra cost.

Children Policies

• Lodging: Up to two children ages 10 or younger stay free when sharing a room with two adults.
• Meals: We offer a children’s menu.
• Tours: Policies vary depending on the activity. When child rates are available they will be passed along.
