Children's policy
•Room rates: Children 0-10 years stay free when sharing room with two adults.
•Meal prices: Ages 0-5, free; Ages 6-10, half price; Ages 11 and older, full price.
•Transportation: All children, including infants, pay full fare on transportation.
•Tours: For all Costa Rica Expeditions operated tours, children ages 0-10 receive a 25% discount as long as they are sharing a room with two adults. For non-CRE operated tours, please check with us.
Difference between Standard & Garden Rooms
Garden Rooms are lower in quality than our Standard Rooms and therefore they are also lower in price. The Garden Rooms are located directly below the bar and restaurant, which means that there is sometimes noise overhead, particularly at meal times. These rooms are smaller than Standard Rooms, they have only one queen-sized bed (as opposed to two), a desk, closet, safe, coffee maker and private bathroom with solar heated hot water. Unlike our Standard Rooms, they do not have a bathtub. A very nice feature of the Garden Rooms is that they have a door that leads directly to the gardens. Most of our guests greatly enjoy this feature, but some are bothered by other patrons, who often sit on the porch outside to watch birds, read or have a cup of coffee.
Description of the Garden Cabin
The Garden Cabin is located away from the main building, nestled between trees in our picturesque gardens. The three-story Garden Cabin offers most of the comforts of Monteverde Lodge, but with more privacy. The cabin has one private bathroom and two double beds. The ground floor bedroom looks out onto a serene pond filled with lilies and has a double bed, closet and sitting area. A restroom with a spacious shower and tub is on the second floor. This level can be accessed from a separate exterior stairway, providing the lower bedroom with additional privacy. The third-floor bedroom is loft style and has a double bed and treetop view of the garden. The Cabin is ideal for those wanting privacy but don’t mind walking outside to get to the Lodge, and also for avid birders, who appreciate the numerous windows and garden location.
