Bosque de Paz Lodge Lovingly built and managed by a Costa Rican family dedicated to conservation, this lodge is set in a 1,000-hectare private reserve and features 12 rooms, each with two double beds, a private bathroom with hot water, and balcony with cloud forest views. Monte Azul Hotel Monte Azul Hotel offers four private cottage duplexes (515 sq. ft.), designed to feature art and nature. Villablanca Cloud Forest Hotel Located on a hilltop an hour from the San Jose International Airport, Villablanca is in the elite group of “Green Hotels of Costa Rica.” It has 34 spacious “casitas,” nicely decorated and many with fireplaces to combat the cool, mountain climate. The restaurant serves traditional Central American food as well as salads and other healthy choices. Facilities include a lounge, entertainment room with games for children, spa, gift shop with quality handicrafts, conference room, and a 34-seat multimedia theater featuring nightly movies.
