| An active vacation that includes hiking, biking, horseback riding tours and white water rafting. In Monteverde you will walk in the cloud forest, home of the rare and beautiful Resplendent Quetzal (from Jan. to July). Then drive to the Arenal Volcano area for a half-day mountain bike tour on the slopes of the Volcano. On Day 5, float the Penas Blancas River and soak in a natural hot springs. Then head to Guiones Beach on the Pacifc coast for two full days. A horseback ride on the beach is included. The day before your departure, raft the Class II-IV Pacuare River, an exciting and scenic trip that includes a gourmet riverbank lunch, cocktail and photo CD. (Min. age 12 years.) |

| This is a family nature trip that takes you from the mountains to the coast and down the Pejibaye River. Start the vacation in Monteverde, where several activities are scheduled, including a cloud forest hike and horseback ride. In Manuel Antonio take a boat ride through the mangroves of Damas Island and visit a vanilla farm. You will also visit a Britt coffee plantation outside San Jose. The fun continues through Day 9, when you will experience Costa Rica Expeditions’ one-day Connoisseur white water adventure on the Pejibaye River (min. age 5 years). |
