This property is at the town of Chimirol de Rivas at the base of the Talamanca Mountains (5 kms from Chirripo National Park). It offers four private cottage duplexes (515 sq. ft.), elegantly designed to feature art and nature. A private, 125-acre reserve surrounds the hotel and the owners have placed original fine art in every room. The hotel’s full-service spa (soon to be open) has treatment rooms overlooking a heated natural spring pool. Guests may also request spa treatments in their own cottage. Monte Azul has a terrace cafe featuring international dishes using fresh and organic ingredients from its own farm. All cottage rooms include: a private terrace; kitchenette; deluxe mattress, linens and down comforters; wifi; telephone; fresh organic coffee; and a chef’s welcome platter upon arrival. TV service not available. Nature-oriented activities include a hike to a private waterfall, bird watching, horseback riding and tours into the National Park. Art and cooking workshops are organized periodically. Cool climate.

Each room is an art gallery where guests will find detailed information about the art found in their suites, including artist statements, professional resumes and pricing. Meals can be catered at your cottage or you may enjoy the terrace at Café Blue, our restaurant with an international menu featuring Costa Rican, Italian, American and Asian inspired dishes. Meals are prepared with fresh and organic (whenever possible) ingredients grown in our own farm, and planned according to what is fresh, in season and locally available.
